| Back at the tender dock. Note the water level is much higher than this morning when we went out... the platform has risen on the pilings and the ramp isn't quite so steep. Note the pier and boats on the far shore. The pics this AM were around 6:30AM and the tide appeared to be at its lowest. It is now about 3:30pm. Thus, we missed high tide and it is on its way back to low tide. I haven't done the research to know the heights of the tides here but it certainly reminds me of the New England area of the US. The long bay up to Puerto Montt, much like the long Bay of Fundy up in Nova Scotia may have influence on the drastic tide variations. |
