Another look up and toward the edge of the dock, a bumper VERY high above the water! The way the tides are here, a ship wouldn't be able to stay at the dock very long! Until this, it had never crossed my mind how the logistics of shipping and cruising could be so severely challenged by the tides! Now I understand why ships don't dock for long hours at ports with tide extremes!
