| We left Punta Arenas around 6pm on Friday afternoon (January 5th) and headed southwest in the Strait of Magellan on our way for two days of cruising through the Chilean Fjords. This map is of the southern tip of South America with the black circle being Punta Arenas and the black line showing my best guess of where we cruised to get out of the strait and into the area of the Fjords we would cruise. The Strait of Magellan is actually somewhat "V" shaped. For some reason, until this trip, I had thought it was actually straight going east-west across the southern tip of the continent! Guess that shows I'm still not too old to learn! |
