| Friday, January 4th: We're off the boat relatively early for our 9am departure on "Trekking in the Andean Club". As we came through the port building, we found our bus waiting for us. It was a smaller bus, and, the group was much smaller than we'd had on other tours. If my memory serves me correctly, there were 15 of us, one of whom was Raquel, an Oceania employee who also served as an escort. The guide led the way and the 'escort' brought up the rear to make sure no one was left behind. We had purchased this tour long before we left home, however, 2 days before the tour, we had to sign a waiver. That, of course, caused some concerns about potential danger. After some research and discussions with Destination Services, we signed the waiver. We were so glad we did! It turned out to be one of the best tours we did! Yes, to any techies viewing this, the upper left corner expansion was 'photo shopped' in from another photo! |
