| Wednesday, January 2, 2008 Due to forecasted heavy seas on January 1, the captain sped up the ship and we cruised the Beagle Channel while it was still daylight and arrived in Ushuaia around 10pm... yes, still broad daylight! Ushuaia is renowned as the southern most city in the world. Astually, the Chilean town of Puerto Williams, across the channel and further east, is more southerly than Ushuaia. It has a population of about 2000, thus Ushuaians say it's a village, not a city! Picky, picky, picky! NOTE: Double click on an image to enlarge it.
