UpDecember '07 - January '08 South America:   Antarctica PrevNext

Another Drake Passage view about 3 hours later.   The skies are clearing and the waves are getting higher.   From the number of white spots, you can see that the ship was bouncing!

We weren't scheduled to be in Ushuaia until 8am on January 2nd, however, the captain advised us the seas were in the 16' level and expected to be neat 35'.   He put the "pedal to the metal" and we arrived in Ushuaia in the evening of January 2nd.

The next set of photos will be of cruising into the Beagle Channel, arriving in Ushuaia and our tour while there.
