| Saturday, December 29, 2007 - Tuesday, January 1, 2008 On leaving the Falklands, we headed across the Drake Passage south to Antarctica. We had read many stories about how rough the seas can be and we were fortunate to have smooth sailing! We spent three days cruising the western side of the Antarctic peninsula. We had a wonderful "Expedition Leader" (Stewart Nelson) who kept us informed of where we were and what we were seeing. He also gave lectures on the area! He was our hero for the area! Little did we know the special treats that were in store for us! And, what a wonderful way to spend New Year's Eve! The trip back across the Drake Passage was not quite so smooth! Commentary with the individual pics describe it! |
