December 2007 South America: Falkland Islands

We had driven by the cemetary on our bus tour, however, didn't stop. While reading information on the Falklands to refresh my memory for the photo commentary, I learned that the headstones on the earlier graves contained a lot of history of the islands. To quote The Penguin News Visitors Guide: "The inscriptions on some of the tombstones are a remarkable record of the spirit and courage of the early settlers."

Makes me wish we'd had the time to visit the cemetary. It brought back memories of a 1987 trip to Bermuda and the amount of time we spent in a cemetary there.
