UpDecember 2007 South America: Punta del Este, Uruguay PrevNextSlideshow

This one, I call "The two hundred dollar photo"! I walked out on the rocks to get a picture of the brightly contrasted gulls on the rocks with the Insignia in the background. All was well until I headed back to the stairs. Miss-reading a stone I thought not to be wet, I slipped and landed face down in a rocky tidal pool! Other than being soaked, and dipped in gull poop, the only thing that was really hurt was my pride! I made sure the camera wasn't broken and my photo was intact and headed back to a much releived (to see I was walking) Tom. Back at the ship, I checked in with Medical Services to get my scrapes cleaned up and that the damage to the tibia (just below the knee) was not permanent. That was the $200 bill! Fortunately, we'd gotten trip insurance. When we got home, Access America quickly reimbursed the amount.
