If you look at the horizon just to the left of center, you can see what appears to be land. I didn't recall seeing that at the time I took the picture, however, in editing it for this album, I looked closely. That sent me to encarta.msn.com and there, I found it is actually an island about the size of the Punta del Este penisula about 6-7 miles offshore.
