Now we're headed out from the busy port at Buenos Aires, destination Montevideo. Montevideo is across and down the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires, however, because the river is so wide, it takes more than a few minutes to get there. At Buenos Aires, the river is some 40-50 miles wide. By the time it reaches the Atlantic, it is some 135-140 miles wide.

The ship on the other side of the dock is Costa's Victoria.
