Floralis Generica is an 18 ton aluminum flower sculpture located in the United Nations Park in the Recoleta barrio. To one side of the park is the Buenos Aires Law School. The flower was a gift to the city by Argentinian architect Eduardo Catalano. It is designed to open in the morning and close in the evening. The opening and closing is accompanied by water sprays and special lighting. Because of the serious drought in the area, it is no longer opened and closed except for very special occasions.
