| The tower of the cathedral, the same ones we saw from down at the riverfront a little earlier. It hard to capture the height and beauty of this mighty structure on "film". The cathedral is one of the largest churches in the world and for four years (1880-1884, construction began in 1248 and wasn't completed until 1880) was the tallest structure in the world. It was superceeded by the Washington Monument and the Effel Tower. |
