| Ehrenfels Castle on the edge of the Rudesheimer Rottland Vineyards. The castle was built around 1215 as a customs fortress. In the 1270's it passed into the possession of the archbishops of Mainz. It was destroyed by the French in the late 1680's and has remained a ruin. |
